Yesterday we mailed a giant package home.

Books, Swiss Army knives, Swiss army blankets, tourist brochures, a street sign from Switzerland (It says School Street!), gifts for other people, etc. The most important thing in the box is the 15 packs of gummy bears. Precious cargo and all.
Saturday we went to a street fair in Gifhorn. I actually ate street fair food! Ok, it was corn on the cob that was boiled in water and brushed with organic butter, but I did it! I was freaked out the rest of the night and Sunday morning, but I didn't get sick. I am still very paranoid about eating food prepared by other people, but hopefully I will get over that a bit.
Speaking of eating food prepared by other people, on Sunday we all went to the pizza place in Braunschweig.

And yes, even though it is labeled gluten free on the menu, I still freak out a bit inside until the window of sickness passes.
Using up the last little bit of food has made for some interesting meals. Mostly stuff thrown together as a "one pot meal" and leftovers mixed with other stuff to make something completely different.
Today we are straightening up, washing laundry and starting to pack nonessentials. It is nice today so we were thinking of walking to the Autostadt one last time, but I am afraid that so much walking will hurt my tailbone. And by the way - how stinking long does it take a bruised tail bone to heal? Sheesh.
